FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg — Slots & Prayer Times

How the Slot System Works

The prayer room operates on a 15-minute rotating schedule, repeating every hour. Each slot gives one group dedicated, uninterrupted access.

Brothers — :00–:10 & :30–:40

10 minutes of dedicated access per half-hour

Sisters — :15–:25 & :45–:55

10 minutes of dedicated access per half-hour

No Entry — :10–:15, :25–:30, :40–:45, :55–:00

5-minute transition — no one enters, giving current occupants time to finish undisturbed

Sisters' time is strictly reserved. Even if no sisters are currently praying, brothers may not enter during a sisters' slot. This rule is non-negotiable and applies at all times.

Why We Use This System

Limited space. The room is small — simultaneous use is not practical. Timed slots ensure everyone gets orderly, fair access without overcrowding.

A safe space for sisters. Sisters deserve a private, comfortable environment to pray without concern. Dedicated slots guarantee that, without compromise.

Equal access for all. Both brothers and sisters receive equal, guaranteed prayer time — no group is marginalised or left waiting indefinitely.
